Water Pressure Tester (0-160 PSI)

Important Notice:

• Under Counter and Reverse Osmosis filter systems are designed for a maximum water service pressure of 90-95 PSI.
• Reverse osmosis systems typically require a water service pressure of at least 45 PSI

What exactly is your water service pressure? 

Pressures above 100 PSI will damage your system, result in a water leak, and will VOID your warranty.  (We will test for this if the product is returned.)

Pressures below 45 psi will cause the RO membrane to not function properly. When you buy one of the Reverse Osmosis water filter systems you are obligated to find out what your water service pressure is.

This is now easily and quickly discovered in seconds with this super handy (0 – 160 PSI) Water Pressure Tester.  Simply screw it onto any standard (3/4”) outside  faucet or garden hose, turn on the water, and read the pressure gauge.  That's it!

Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve – 85 PSI

Important Notice: Under counter and Reverse Osmosis filter systems are designed with a maximum working pressure of around 90-95 PSI.

It's important that you know that municipal water supplies occasionally or often have "water pressure spikes".  These spikes can go over 140 PSI. 

Pressure spikes above 100 PSI will damage your system, result in a water leak, and will VOID your warranty.  (We will test for this if the product is returned.) 

When you buy one of these filter systems you are obligated to either find out what your water service pressure is- or install one of these inexpensive Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valves.  One or the other or both.

This Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve by Apex will protect everything downstream by limiting the water pressure to 85 PSI.  Simple yet totally effective.

Installs in a matter of seconds by cutting the 1/4” tubing going into your filter system and shoving the cut ends firmly into the Quick Connect openings at each end.  That's it!  It locks tight and produces a secure high pressure connection that won't come loose!

• For Refrigerators and Ice Makers: We carry a Complete Ice Maker Kit for RO Systems or under sink filters ($24) that sends water to your refrigerator.   Caution: Now some ice makers/refrigerators contain a water supply shut-off valve in the ice maker that will require a specific water pressure in the delivery line from the RO system in order to shut off the water.  With these types of refrigerators you will need to order an optional Delivery Pump ($110.) (installed after the Inline Post Filter on a RO - or installed after the filter unit on a regular under sink filter) that will guarantee 40 PSI of line pressure to the refrigerator.  It is the consumer's responsibility to determine if they have this kind of refrigerator / ice maker unit.  Consult the owner's manual or call the manufacturer if you want to supply RO water to the refrigerator.  If you do not supply the required water pressure to these type of refrigerators, the ice maker will turn on the water and never shut it off, resulting in catastrophic flooding.  Use at your own risk.  Consult with the refrigerator manufacturer or a licensed plumber if you are unsure.
