Aquatec
Series 6800 Booster Pump
A Reverse Osmosis Water System membrane requires
a pressure greater than 50 PSI to function
properly.
The carbon filter cartridges (before the membrane)will cause an additional pressure drop (when new) which actually increases as the filter cartridge is being used and gets dirty.
For proper performance we recommend a Pressure Boosting Pump (as shown below) for your RO System if your household water pressure is not 53 PSI or greater.
Find out what your water pressure
is. We do sell an inexpensive water pressure tester so you can use to easily measure your household water pressure.
- Use the Aquatec 6800 pump for membranes 50 GPD or less.
- Price Includes:
- 6800 Pump which accepts 1/4" tubing. Install onto the 1/4" tubing before your Stage 1 Sediment Filter intake.
- Includes 110 volt Transformer. Plug into a GFC Outlet.
- Automatic Shut Off Switch - You must choose either 1/4" or 3/8" size. Sensor switch installs onto the tubing coming out of your Pressure Tank, near the tank.
- Pump turns on automatically when the Tank Pressure drops to 40 PSI and turns off automatically when Tank Pressure reaches 60 PSI.
- They will not burn up if you run them dry or stop them up!
- 110 volts AC. uses only 24 watts!
- Do not use for the GE Merlin RO System. Use the Merlin Booster.
- Manufacturer says these pumps may be field serviced with a Diaphragm Replacement Kit approximately every 3 -4 years, depending on water conditions and usage conditions.
- Aquatec Website Link for info and instructions.
- Use and Install at your own risk.
CALL US if you need this in a 12 volt DC version to operate off of a 12 volt battery system. |

Water Pressure
Tester (0-160 PSI)
Important Notice:
- Under Counter and Reverse Osmosis
filter systems are designed for a maximum
water service pressure of 95 PSI.
- Reverse osmosis systems require a water
service pressure between 63 – 95 PSI
What exactly is your water service pressure?
Pressures above 95 PSI will damage your system, result in
a water leak, and will VOID your warranty. (We will test
for this if the product is returned.)
Pressures below 63 psi will cause the Ro membrane to not
function properly. When you buy one of the Reverse Osmosis
water filter systems you are obligated to find out what
your water service pressure is.
This is now easily and quickly discovered in seconds with
this super handy (0 – 160 PSI) Water Pressure
Tester. Simply screw it onto any standard (3/4”) outside faucet
or garden hose, turn on the water, and read the pressure
gauge. That's it! This is the service pressure of your house!
Solve the mystery once and for all! Impress your friends and neighbors.

Digital TDS Meter (Total Dissolved Solids)
How exactly do you know when your reverse osmosis membrane
is starting to go bad and needs replacing?
This pre-calibrated instrument is basically your only way of knowing how
well your membrane is holding up.
Membranes typically last from 1-2 years depending on water quality and quantity
pushed through.
Simply measure the TDS of your untreated tap water – and
then compare it against the TDS of your Ro treated water
to get an understanding of how well it is performing.
TDS is the total weight of all solids, minerals, salts, or
metals - that are slipping past your membrane.
Generally, it is recommended that you replace the membrane
when less than 80 % of the TDS is being removed.
- Measures TDS from 0-999 ppm, with a resolution of 1 PPM.
- Measures TDS from 1,000 – 9,990 ppm, with resolution
of 10ppm
- batteries included
- accurate to within +/- 2%. Factory pre-calibrated.
How To Calculate:
- Use a calculator for easy results.
- Take the ppms of Untreated Water and subtract from it
the ppms of Treated Water. (Example: 500 untreated – 95
treated = 405
ppm removed.)
- Now take the ppm removed and multiply by 100. (405
x 100 = 40,500)
- Now divide it by the ppms of Untreated Water.
This is the Percent TDS Removed by your membrane or filter. (
40,500 / 500 = 81% TDS Removed.)
- General recommendation: replace membrane if % TDS Removed
is 79% or less.
- “Extra purification” recommendation: replace
membrane if % TDS Removed is 85-90% or less.
This
will cause you to replace your membrane a little sooner than
normal.
This is good if you know you have high levels of arsenic,
toxic metals, solvents or pesticides in your water, or if
you have the usual trace level quantities-but simply want
to keep their concentration reduced to as low as possible. |

Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve – 85 PSI
Important Notice: Under counter and Reverse Osmosis filter systems are designed with a maximum working pressure of 100 PSI.
It's important that you know that municipal water supplies occasionally or often have "water pressure spikes". These spikes can go over 140 PSI.
Pressure spikes above 100 PSI will damage your system, result in a water leak, and will VOID your warranty. (We will test for this if the product is returned.)
When you buy one of these filter systems you are obligated to either find out what your water service pressure is- or install one of these inexpensive Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valves. One or the other or both.
This Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve by Apex will protect everything downstream by limiting the water pressure to 85 PSI. Simple yet totally effective.
Installs in a matter of seconds by cutting the 1/4” tubing going into your filter system and shoving the cut ends firmly into the Quick Connect openings at each end. That's it! It locks tight and produces a secure high pressure connection that won't come loose! |
