6 Stage RO Water Systems - High Efficiency

Our 6 Stage Silver Series RO System is recommended for:

  • people who want a top quality, high purity RO system
  • creating pleasant, crystal clear purified drinking water
  • improving the taste of nasty, problematic water
  • eliminating water softener salts, fluoride, nitrates, and metals
  • reducing pesticides, herbicides, nitrates, and other pollutants
  • eliminating disease-causing microorganisms (including viruses)
  • creating healthier drinks and herbal teas with less pollutants (when present)
  • reducing arsenic levels (when present)
  • Important: read the Requirements tab below before purchasing an RO System to see the required operating conditions.

Required Operating Conditions for this reverse osmosis system:

  • Important: Maximum Hardness: 153 mg/L (9 Grains, 9 GPG) although we recommend 7 GPG maximum.  Hard water combined with with a pH of 9.5 or higher will very quickly clog and destroy an RO membrane. If your water is too hard, pre-treating the hardness with a water softener is necessary.

  • Minimum Operating Pressure: 60 PSI
  • Recommended Minimum Operating Pressure: > 65 PSI.   NOTE: Higher pressures allow the unit to work more efficiently, with less water going down the drain.  Higher TDS levels AND colder water require more pressure to push the water through the membrane
  • Optimum Operating Pressure: 70-80 PSI .

  • Maximum Operating Pressure: 85 PSI. An 85 PSI Filtamate Pressure Limiting Valve is highly recommended for water pressure above 80 PSI to protect against rogue water pressure spikes, which are VERY common in most municipalities.

  • Temperature Range: 40 – 100 degrees F.  Cold water passes through the membrane much slower than warm water, and will decrease the output of purified water per hour.

  • pH: 3-11

  • Maximum Feed TDS Level: 500 ppm TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)

  • Maximum Turbidity: 1.0 Net Turbidity (NTU)

  • Maximum Iron (Fe): 0.05 mg/L

  • Maximum Manganese (Mn): 0.025 mg/L

  • Maximum Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S): 0.00 mg/L

  • Maximum Chlorine: 2 mg/L (2 ppm), as long as carbon cartridges are replaced on schedule.  Chlorine, ozone, and oxidizers damage RO Membranes.

  • Acceptable water sources: Potable community source water or potable private well water that is properly chlorinated to provide proper microbiological protection. For liability reasons RO manufacturers and even UV Disinfection manufacturers will not take responsibility for giving you any microbiological protection, and therefore leave it up to you to be sure the water is first properly disinfected with chlorine.

  • * Note: mg/L is the same as ppm (parts per million).
