Required Operating Pressure: 25-100 PSI
Water Softeners for effective IRON Removal
- Standard Water Softening Resin will effectively remove up to 1.5 ppm of dissolved IRON. This is a high performance softenening resin.
- Ask for our optional Fine Mesh Resin Option for IRON Removal to effectively remove between 1.6 - 5 ppm of Dissolved Iron. Adds about 3-4 PSI to the pressure drop. Multiply the cubic feet x $25.
- For Iron Removal Systems ask for a bottle of ResUp Cleaner. Simply add approx. 1 TBSP to your salt tank every 2 weeks or have us factory install an automatic ResUp Feeder System to your brine tank for only $15.00 extra
- 1 Quart bottle of Clack ResUp Cleaner (#T6001) = only $14.
- Insider Tip : Install a 4.5"x20" sediment filter ( 5 micron washable) to keep rust particles out of the softener. If your water is chlorinated - install a carbon block downstream of the sediment filter. Chlorine destroys softening resins.

We need to know the following things (ask your water department):
- Total Hardness in grains or ppms
- Iron level in ppms
- Manganese (if available)
- How many people live in the house
- The flow rate of the water in your pipes
Note: Iron levels of 1.9 ppm or more require intervention, as this will interfere with the softening performance. Upgrade to a Fine Mesh Resin to remove Iron levels between 1.6 - 5 ppm. Iron levels greater than 5.0 ppm require an oxidation unit installed upstream of the softener.
